Sex Therapy for Men

For many men, sex is an important way to feel connected and close to their partner. But when sexual challenges arise, it can feel tough to talk about and may lead to feelings of anxiety, frustration, or even self-doubt. Whether itā€™s erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, or low libido, these issues can make intimacy feel more like a struggle than a source of joy.

Itā€™s not just about the physical sideā€”questions around sexual orientation, compatibility with your partner, or exploring kinks and fetishes can also add to the confusion. These are all real, valid concerns, but the good news is they donā€™t have to get in the way of having a satisfying sex life. Together, we can work through these challenges and help you feel more confident and connected in your intimate relationships.

For many men, sex is an important way to feel connected and close to their partner. However, seeking expert help is crucial for the change youā€™re looking for. While not always easy, talking openly about these issues is the first step toward overcoming them.

LPC supervision Texas

A Certified Sex Therapist who knows what youā€™re going through.

Growing up in Costa Ricaā€™s Catholic traditions, I was surrounded by strict expectations about how I should behave, especially regarding gender roles.

My curiosity went beyond just understanding myselfā€”I wanted to understand the “opposite sex” as well. This led me to focus my dissertation on masculinity and jealousy, where I explored how the roles and messages we learn affect our relationships and the way we connect with others.

Because of this gap in knowledge, my early relationshipsā€”though they started with a lot of passionā€”soon lost their excitement. I experienced painful sex, a loss of desire, and even reached a point where I thought, “Iā€™m okay never having sex again.” Yes, it got that bad. Deep down, I craved the connection, excitement, and aliveness that sex brings, but I had no idea how to make that happen.

Determined to change my life and experience fulfilling intimacy, I embarked on a journey that led me to become a Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).

I also immersed myself in ancient practices like Tantra and Taoism, gaining a deep understanding of the connection between emotional and physical intimacy. This journey completely transformed not just my view of relationships but my entire life.

I went from feeling disconnected from my body to experiencing mind-blowing pleasure and orgasms. Now, my mission is clear: to create a movement of loving, kind sexual freedom and empowerment. Iā€™m passionate about guiding others to embrace their sexuality, heal their past, and rediscover the pleasure and connection they deserve.

Low libido can have multiple causes, including stress, anxiety, hormone imbalances, or relationship issues. In therapy, weā€™ll dive into the root causes, exploring both emotional and physical factors, and work on ways to reignite your sexual desire.

Feeling nervous about initiating intimacy is more common than you think. Weā€™ll work on boosting your confidence by addressing any insecurities, fears of rejection, or performance anxiety that might be holding you back, empowering you to feel more comfortable approaching your partner.

Performance anxiety can make sex feel like a stressful task instead of something enjoyable. Weā€™ll use techniques like mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help you stay present in the moment and reduce the pressure to ā€œperform,ā€ allowing you to reconnect with your partner without fear.

Opening up about kinks or fetishes can feel intimidating, but in therapy, weā€™ll work on effective communication strategies that allow you to express your desires with your partner in a respectful, open way. Weā€™ll also explore how to create an environment of trust and mutual consent.
